Dezentralisationsübung F/A-18 in St. Stephan 2021

As in 2019 and 2020, a decentralization exercise by the Swiss Air Force took place again this year. This year the exercise took place at the airfield in St. Stephan, a former Reduit airfield of the Swiss Air Force, where military jets regularly landed during Cold War. Today the airfield is used only for civil purposes. The aim of this exercise was to get the jets back into the air as quickly as possible from an airfield without military infrastructure. The scenery and weather in the Bernese Oberland were unique!

McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet

Wie bereits 2019 und 2020 fand auch in diesem Jahr wieder eine Dezentralisationsübung der Schweizer Luftwaffe statt. Zielflugplatz war dieses Jahr der Flugplatz in St. Stephan, ein ehemaliger Réduit Flugplatz der Schweizer Luftwaffe, auf welchem zur Zeit des kalten Krieges regelmässig Militärjets landeten. Heute wird der Flugplatz ausschliesslich Zivil genutzt. Ziel dieser Übung war, die Jets möglichst rasch von einem Flugplatz ohne militärische Infrastruktur wieder in die Luft zu bringen. Die Szenerie und das Wetter im Berner Oberland waren einmalig!
