Luxeuil Airshow 2021

The airshow at Base Aerienne 116 in Luxeuil was a photographic highlight for me in 2021. The airbase in northeastern France is the homebase of the Groupe de Chasse 1/2 'Cigognes' (Storks) with their Dassault Mirage 2000-5F, which have already been there several times in Payerne in Switzerland. The French always manage to invite interesting participants to their shows. For example, a Mig-21 from the Romanian Air Force flew a display and the Danish specially painted F-16 was also in Luxeuil. Since the spectator area was on the east side of the runway which means taking pictures against the sun all day, I decided to photograph the airshow on the west side of the airbase.

Die Airshow auf der Base Aerienne 116 in Luxeuil war für mich ein fotografisches Highlight im Jahr 2021. Die Airbase im Nordosten Frankreichs beheimatet die Groupe de Chasse 1/2 ‘Cigognes’ (Störche) mit ihren Dassault Mirage 2000-5F, welche schon öfter in Payerne zu sehen waren. Die Franzosen schaffen es immer wieder, interessante Teilnehmer an ihre Shows einzuladen. So flog beispielsweise eine Mig-21 der rumänischen Luftwaffe ein Display und auch die dänische sonderlackierte F-16 war in Luxeuil. Da die Zuschauerzone auf der Ostseite der Piste war man von dort den ganzen Tag gegen die Sonne fotografiert entschloss ich mich, die Airshow auf der Westseite des Platzes zu fotografieren.
