Patrouille Suisse & Swiss A-321, Lauberhorn 2016

The Lauberhorn downhill ski race takes place in Wengen in the middle of Swiss Alps. The downhill course is currently the longest in the world; its length of 4.48 km results in run times of two and a half minutes. It is one of the most spectacular races, not only on the slope, as well on air. Since many years the famous Patrouille Suisse is showing a spectacular air display. Since last year, SWISS Airline is one of the main sponsors of the event. SWISS contributed a highlight with some flypasts by one of its Airbus: last year an Airbus 320 and this year an Airbus 321. Unfortunately Last year I couldn’t go to the Lauberhorn, but this year I was able to see and photograph the show.

Das Ski-Abfahrtsrennen am Lauberhorn bietet Spektakel der Sonderklasse, nicht nur auf der Skipiste, sondern auch in der Luft. Seit vielen Jahren fliegt die Patrouille Suisse ein Show-Display. Seit letztem Jahr bereichert die Airline Swiss als Hauptsponsor des Rennens die Show. Die Patrouille Suisse fliegt zusammen mit einem Airbus der Swiss ein Display. Leider konnte ich im letzten Jahr nicht aufs Lauberhorn gehen, umso erfreulicher war, dass es dieses Jahr geklappt hat. Zum Glück spielte das Wetter einigermassen mit - ganz optimal war es nicht, weil die Sonne teilweise von Wolken bedeckt war, aber ein paar tolle und seltene Bilder hat es dennoch gegeben - Displays von militärischen Kunstflugstaffeln zusammen mit zivilen Airlinern sind doch recht selten...
